Opera

After receiving free tickets (!) from one of Jennifer's co-workers, we had our second-ever operatic adventure this Sunday. Always up for culture, she and I went to see La Boheme ages ago in Belfast, and this week got to see The Nose, by Shastakovich, inspired by the Gogol story. The story of a man who wakes up without his nose, only to find out it is walking around town dressed as a government commissioner (with higher rank than he has!), The Nose is weird and hilarious. We thoroughly enjoyed it and took pleasure in the fact that the Boston opera-going crowd takes their opera seriously and comes to even the matinee performances in dresses and furs.
