Outfit post: Sunday

I wore this on a gorgeous 60-degree Sunday to visit the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park with Jennifer (more on that in a bit). Our springy dresses got commented on by every person we talked to. Sadly, however, it's back to snowing/raining today, so the dresses are back in the closet. This is one of my favorite dresses; I love the forties-esque tulip skirt shape. Dress, tank, tights from Target, boots from Duo.

Outfit post: Friday

I wore this outfit to go out for Greek food with Jennifer to celebrate my last day of work. It was warmish out for the weekend so I was really excited to break out a lighter jacket. Blue and purple plaid trench coat, belted shift dress, and grey tights from Target, teal and silver flats from Topshop, lilac scarf from a vendor in Paris.

This girl kicks ass

Solveig, a 10-year-old girl from the UK, is a grafitti artist who makes these amazingly witty and clever murals.

This is my favorite - it's two skeletons who run a salon called Scare Cuts. Says Solveig, "The skeleton on the left is not very good and is always messing up the hair cuts. The one on the right is the boss and drops the cups of tea when he sees what the other one has done. The dude with the glasses is cross because he is late for work as he only wanted a trim. The girl has accidently been turned into a blond Amy Winehouse. The black man likes his haircut, though." How fantastic is that?

I also like this picture of the AGC (All Girl Crew), which is Solveig, her sister, and three of their friends. As the flickr caption says, "Us girls can boogie too..."

Aptly named Serenghetto.

Bite me.

She even tattoos!

Seriously, how fierce is this kid?! You can see more of her work at her flickr.

Yes, please

I need this new dress from Anthropologie. The back is especially cute as well!

A very merry un-birthday

I love these two spreads from the newest N.E.E.T. magazine, now on virtual newsstands. The second one especially inspires me for the spring Alice in Wonderland/children's books tea party Jennifer and I have been planning.

Opera

After receiving free tickets (!) from one of Jennifer's co-workers, we had our second-ever operatic adventure this Sunday. Always up for culture, she and I went to see La Boheme ages ago in Belfast, and this week got to see The Nose, by Shastakovich, inspired by the Gogol story. The story of a man who wakes up without his nose, only to find out it is walking around town dressed as a government commissioner (with higher rank than he has!), The Nose is weird and hilarious. We thoroughly enjoyed it and took pleasure in the fact that the Boston opera-going crowd takes their opera seriously and comes to even the matinee performances in dresses and furs.

Green! And loads of patterns! I fell in love with this dress, but figured I would switch out the ribbon belt for another color (aka purple), but decided in the end to embrace the green and top it with this fabulously bold cardie I bought recently. This is definitely another dress I cannot wait to wear in the spring sans the layers. Maybe with some cute espadrilles. Cardie from Old Navy, dress from Anthropologie, crewneck and leggings from Target, boots by Duo.

Outfit post: Friday

Very casual for Friday. Plaid top, belt, and jeans from Gap. Sweater vest from Target. Shoes by Doc Marten.

Outfit post: Thursday

Thursday in my Sarah Palin jacket and houndtooth shoes!. Jacket, top from Target, jeans from Gap, shoes from Old Navy.
